What is Fibroblast Plasma Pen?
Fibroblast is an absolute revolutionary procedure which requires zero surgery. It is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment that is designed to tighten and lift the skin, shrinking excess skin, crow's feet, bags and wrinkles. It is known to be radical in wrinkle smoothing and eyelid tightening, reducing hooded eyelids.
What Does it do?
The plasma pen creates arcs, which produces carbon crusts (dots) on the skin. This then causes the skin to speed up collagen and elastin production; helping to lift, tighten and plump out fine lines and wrinkles
Who is suitable for this treatment?
Clients who are 40+ years of age will see best results with this treatment. However, an in-person consultation will help determine whether or not you are a suitable candidate for this treatment
Who isn't suitable for this treatment?
Clients with a darker skin type. There is a potential risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation issues. An in-person consult will be needed before commencing treatment.
Clients who a under 40 years of age. Younger skins may not see as good of a result, if any. A face to face consult will be needed before commencing treatment
When will I see Results?
Within 3 months, however you will see more of an instant result with a more mature skin type. If a younger client already has 80% of cell production, they won't see much of a difference in their skin as it is already rejuvenated and the therapist may offer an alternative treatment in the skin consultation. Whereas, an older client may have a low percentage of 40%, so when the production is stimulated it will increase more and the results will be MORE visible.
What will happen straight after treatment?
You will apply numbing 45 min prior to treatment, so pain shouldn't be bad during the procedure, but afterwards there may be a burning sensation. You may also feel a sensation during the treatment. Also, there will be some swelling in the treatment area and that is completely normal especially around the eyes. Swelling usually only lasts a few days.
Formation of brown crusts on the skin will surface. DO NOT PICK! They will fall off between a few days - about a week.
Pre-care?
- No makeup to be worn on day of treatment if treatment is on the face
-Clients can take an antihistamine 1 hour prior to their appointment and continue 2-3 days following treatment to reduce swelling
-Avoid alcohol 24h hours prior to treatment and 48 hours after treatment
-If client has more melanin in skin, 2 weeks before treatment it is highly recommended to use a Tyrosinase Inhibitor to help ensure there is no overproduction of pigment in the skin e.g. Medik8 White Balance range. If you do have a darker skin tone please let the staff know when you make your booking so we can assess if this is the right treatment for you. If you don’t do this and come in and we can’t do the treatment it is a $20 rescheduling surcharge and we will insist on purchasing certain products to limit the chance of pigmentation, also depending on the skin we can do a test patch as well
-Avoid any other type of procedures on the same area that you wish to be treated with the Plasma Pen, such as laser therapy, chemical peels, botox and fillers
After-care?
All of your skin care products should be non-irritating and non-clogging for the first week or so after the treatment. For best results, follow your beauty therapist’s aftercare recommendations and to read our pamphlet. We will recommend your aftercare to ensure maximum result with minimal healing time. Please note if you choose not to take your therapist advice, we cannot guarantee result and healing time. We will never push product onto you but will advise and educate with our experience
You should first apply sunscreen 20 minutes before going outside, and again, immediately before. After that, reapply your sunscreen every 2 hours. If direct sun exposure is necessary, wear a hat and clothing that covers the treated area. Use this regimen during the healing period and always.
Remember that peeling and/or flaking is normal during the healing process. Therefore, the product should be non-irritating and non-clogging, or else you could develop breakouts. During the healing period your normal moisturiser may be too occlusive, so please consider using our aftercare products. Reapply whenever your skin feels dry.
Your skin will be sensitive for the first week or so after treatment, so do not use products that will cause irritation during this time. Do not use abrasive scrubs, toners, or products that contain glycolyic acids or Retin A. Read the product labels.
Do not do any cosmetic treatments on the treated area of the following until the skin is healed at 8 weeks.
